Compressor Oil
In order for the compressor to work reliably and economically, compressor oil plays several vital roles. It protects the rotating parts, absorbs heat to ensure the optimum operating temperature. The oil seals the gaps between the rotors and the housing, preventing the back flow of air and reducing the output. Finally, it absorbs contaminants or carries them to the oil filter. Our range includes compressor mineral (standard) oil, synthetic oil and food oil. Mineral air compressor oil is usually the cheapest of the two categories, but it does not last as long as synthetic oil. Synthetic compressor oil is made from a synthetic base – an artificially created patented mixture of a certain type, and not from an oil-derived base used in standard oils. Synthetic oil is more expensive than standard oil, but it also lasts longer – in some cases even 50 percent longer. Synthetic compressor oil is more stable, does not decompose and does not evaporate as easily and provides greater cooling capabilities than mineral oil.
